出願期限とは

こんにちは！

今日は大学院の出願期限（Deadline)についてお話ししたいと思います。

日本は奨学金だろうと大学院だろうと、出願期限がある場合、その締切が過ぎてから審査が始まります。なので早く出してもメリットがないので基本的に皆さん締切ギリギリに提出します。

オーストラリアの大学院の出願期限の意味は違いました！

アデレード大学、UTS(シドニー工科大学)なども出願しようと考えておりましたが、期限と入学日の間が２カ月を切っているのでビサや引っ越しの準備をどうすればいいのか困っていました。

提出→合否発表→ビザ→引っ越し準備→渡豪→入学　を全て２カ月でやるのは無理がある…

「独り身が多いから身軽に動けるのかなぁ」と考えて子持ちの私は出願を諦めていました。でも一応ダメ元で下記の通りUTSに確認してみました。

質問：

I am interested in applying for the MBA program at UTS next year but I am worried about the short time between the acceptance notice and the enrollment date at UTS. The other universities I am applying have several rounds and most of them give me the acceptance notice 6 months or so before the enrollment date so I have time to prepare for the visa and preparation for going overseas.

My question is, 1) if I were to enroll in the MBA program next year, when will I receive my acceptance notice? 2) Do other international students prepare the visa and everything else in that short period of time?

要は「deadlineと入学日が短いけど留学生のみんなは準備どうしてるの？」という質問です。

回答：

Thank you for your enquiry about studying the Master of Business Administration at the University of Technology Sydney.

The sooner you apply, the sooner it will take to receive an outcome/offer, and the sooner you can apply for a visa. Even if you apply now for the July 2020 intake, you will receive an outcome within 4-6 weeks.

The deadline exists to make sure students are still able to apply for a visa in time for their preferred intake.

「期限はあくまでも最終期限であって、その前に提出してくれれば、その都度Applicationをみるよ。提出してくれてからだいたい4-6週間で合否が出せるよ。」とのこと！！

オーストラリアの大学院では随時Applicationを受け付けており、提出したらすぐに審査に回してくれるそう。

なーーんだ。そういうことか！

ということは出来上がったApplicationはどんどん早めに出してしまっていいということですね。むしろ期限よりだいぶ早めに出した方が他のApplicantより先に立てるので早めに出した方が良さそうです。

日本の「期限」という概念と違っていて驚きました。

ということで、来年になってから手を付けようと思っていたアデレード大学とUTSをそろそろ作成していこうと考えています。
